Happy New Year! What Are Your 2010 Resolutions?

Hey, this is just a quick message to wish you all a Happy New Year!

I hope 2010 brings you much success, health, wealth and happiness.

This is a big year for me. I turn 40 this summer, so I'm challenging myself with some big goals over the upcoming year:
  • To get and stay in the best shape of my life! This means I will get leaner, stronger, and healthier than I've ever been. I've written down my specific strength goals for each exercise, my bodyweight and body-fat % goals, and the exact dates I will achieve these goals.
  • Take my business to the next level. This also means making more great training resources available to you guys... including articles, videos, and finishing the ebooks I've been working on forever!
  • Spending more quality time with my family. Our daughter is 14 months old now, and the last year has gone by SO fast! I want to make sure I appreciate every minute of her growing up, and still make time to spend with the most beautiful woman I know... my wife.
  • Planning time with no plans. Setting aside a little time to just "chill" and relax... an essential part of maintaining good health!
One of the keys to achieving your goals and being successful with your resolutions, is to write them down and then to share them with others! Actually writing your goals is similar to making a contract with yourself, and when you let other "supportive" people know about them it makes you more accountable.

With this in mind, I invite you to share your New Years goals and resolutions on this blog. I would love to hear your plans for 2010, and I'm certain it would be motivating for the other readers! So take a minute to seriously consider what changes you want to make in your life, and what results you want in 2010 and leave a comment below. I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank You and Happy New Year!

Stay Fit,
Josh

My goals for 2010 are to become stronger, leaner and healthier and find new challenges to pursue with my training. I will continue to make my training and healthy eating part of my daily routine. I plan to keep my life balanced and find time to pursue personal interests. Keeping a positive attitude, inner strength and happiness is the key all my goals in 2010.

Hey Josh and Happy New Year! I have many New Years resolutions and I plan to write them down like you and stick to them. The biggest on my list is getting back in shape after my two knee surgeries in 2009. I want to be in my best shape and be the role model to my clients that I would like to be.

I have large goals and small goals for 2010. My large goal is to better balance work and family, where I can be proud of my career and of the quality time I spend with my husband and 3 teenage children. Another large goal is to be the most motivating trainer I can be for my clients. One of my smaller goals is at 45, to be in the best shape I have ever been in yet - I want to be able to perform 10 chin ups by the end of this year, and to keep developing the 6-pack you helped me start. A final goal I have is to make sure I get enough sleep every night. And of course, to try to enjoy every moment along the way. Happy New Year!!

To make 2010 my best year yet, physically,my 3 most important goals are to..
Maximize my nutrition even further.I finally got a Jack Lalane juicer for Christmas.Anyone know what to juice dandelion or watercress with so I can't taste it?
#2..Drink less coffee and more water and green tea with Stevia(I've gone from 21 cups of coffee a week to 9 a week over the last month)
#3..To continue studying and COMPLETE becoming a personal trainer and eventually making a career out of it

And mentally..to continue educating myself and always be learning..health and fitness are now tools I use to have the best life I can and be the best person I can be,for God and others..there's nothing I'm more passionate about!!
P.S...Thank you Josh, for being such a great motivator and inspiration to others who want the same!!

I see some excellent goals here! Jane, balance certainly is important in life; and with your determination you will definitely reach your fitness goals! Jairo, I applaud you for taking a leadership role on your team and I wish you success getting scouted!
Nice to hear from some other trainers here as well... Raya, Giselle, (and Shelley, soon to be certified!). I can sure identify with many of your goals.
Wow, 10 chinups by the end of the year... That will be awesome Giselle!
Thanks alot for sharing, guys.

Hey Josh...great idea to offer a forum like this to get people to articulate what they want and ramp up the accountability!

I had a great training run last year and gained a lot of strength...then a string of injuries put me on the sidelines for a bit.

First goal is to get healthy, second goal is to STAY healthy, once I'm there, my goal is to stay disciplined about keeping good habits with workouts, not missing meals and getting enough sleep - which will lead to me man-handling that 340-lb. stone for reps sometime in the summer!

Business-wise I plan to double our sales from 2009 and continue making progress, as I have been, toward owning a real business, and not a job.

Good luck to all of you in 2010! Get a plan and work it!

Thanks Conor... great goals. You and I will both be throwing that 340 lb stone around like a pebble soon enough!
